In india, Children’s day is celebrated on the 14th November every year in the  memory of Pandit jawahar lal Nehru as he was born on November 14, 1889.Pandit Nehru also known for his affectionately love for children, called as Chachaji or simply chacha Nehru also. On this special event of Children’s day several schools in india organize different functions like debates, music and dance program and often distributed chocolates and gifts between children.  It has also a common practice of distributing gifts like clothes, toys and books to children on this day in our country. Before the year 1964, India celebrated Children’s Day which was being observed as universal Children’s day  on 20 November in united nations. But after the death of Chacha nehru in 1964, decided by indian government to celebrate Nehru’s birthday as Bal Diwas/ Children’s Day in the country because of Chacha’s love and affection towards children.
